Frequently asked questions
Below are some of the most commonly asked questions posed by our clients. However, should your query not be covered here, please do not hesitate to call our team on 01634 914 063 or e-mail us at email@example.com and a member of staff will be happy to assist you.
We are more than happy to set up business accounts subject to the usual credit checks and your acceptance of our standard Account Terms & Conditions. Please telephone or e-mail us for an application form and a copy of our Account & Hire T&Cs.
Collection and drop off times must be between 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Unfortunately we would be required to charge a late return fee if a vehicle is returned after the stated time of the hire.
You will need to calculate and plan your charging route with as much care as you plan your road route before you set off. Chargers may be broken or not in use, and you could find yourself trapped or stuck with a slow charger and not be able to get the car back within the hire period and incur the late return penalty.
We always recommend choosing a charging area where there is more than one charging venue, so you have 2 additional places to try. Familiarise yourself with the ZapMap app a few days before you travel. It will take time to understand the meaning and significance of the icons and their relationship to the car you hire and your journey.
We accept all major credit cards underwritten by MasterCard and Visa, but with apologies we do not take American Express or Diners Club cards.
*All Hires: Fair Usage Policy applies. See Terms & Conditions.
Electric vehicle hires for less than 3 months benefit from 150 miles usage per day.
Rentals of 3 months + are subject to 20,000 miles per annum / pro rata.
As indicated on the Self-Drive page, our hire charges exclude VAT and insurance (where applicable). You also have the option of paying an additional premium to reduce the insurance excess. There will be a charge for us to deliver &/or collect your hire vehicle if you cannot collect or return your EV.
Other charges may apply if you have any special requirements but these are discretionary and, wherever possible, we shall do our utmost either to waive these or keep them to an absolute minimum.
A tyre damage waiver of £3.00 per day (non Vatable) and screen damage waiver of £3.00 per day (non Vatable) will occur, should the cars be returned with any of the above.
5 years if hiring a Tesla, Jaguar I-Pace, Porsche Taycan, Audi e-tron, Polestar 2 or any of our electric vans.
3 years if hiring a Renault ZOE, BMW i3, Kia E-Niro, Vauxhall Corsa-e, Volkswagen ID.3 or Volkswagen ID.4.
I HAVE PENALTY POINTS ON MY DRIVING LICENCE. CAN I STILL SELF-DRIVE HIRE AN EV FROM EVISION ELECTRIC VEHICLES?
It may be possible, depending upon how many points you have and what you accrued them for. Please call our team and we will do our level best to find a way to accommodate you.
30 years old and over for Tesla, Jaguar, Audi, Polestar 2 & Porsche hire, 21 years old and over for a BMW i3, Renault ZOE, Vauxhall Corsa-e, any of our electric vans, Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4 and Kia e-Niro hire.
The answer is yes, provided you have all of the following:
- You have your own insurance and include EVision on the policy as the car owner, and:
- You provide us with a £500 deposit, refundable when the vehicle is properly returned, and:
- You have no more than 6 points on your licence.
- Must have held a driving licence for 5 years or more (anyone of any age can drive it, the car will just need to be insured by the driver).
If you are not able to provide details for all of the above, unfortunately you will be unable to hire the car from EVision.
We usually keep a couple of vehicles in reserve to cover this eventuality, to avoid disappointing our other clients.
In the event that you should need to extend your hire, or find yourself unable to return your EV when due, please contact our team as soon as possible by calling the number given above or by emailing us.
Please also be aware that this may incur additional charges.
Yes you may. Please note, however, that you leave your vehicle at our premises at your own risk and we cannot accept any responsibility for its safe-keeping; nor can we accept liability for any damage it may sustain whilst left in our car park.
When hiring a car from EVision Electric Vehicles, we will require 3 things from you:
- Letter showing your full name and full address i.e. utility bill / phone bill
- Your vehicle licence check code, generated via the DVLA website
- A photocopy of your driving licence
If you do not hold a British Driving License, then you would need to send us a photocopy of the front and back of your driving licence initially. We would then get this checked over with our own insurance company to ensure you can indeed hire the vehicle. We would let you know as soon as we have heard back from the insurance company.
Initially, we would have to carry out some standard procedure checks. If approved, please kindly note there may be an additional cost on the insurance if you are taking the electric car outside of the UK.
